Brianna Keilar
Journalist Brianna Marie Keilar was born on September 21, 1980 in Canberra, Australia. With an Australian father and an American mother, her family moved to the United States, settling in Orange County, California when she was less than 3 years old. Keilar graduated in 2001 from the University of California, Berkeley, with dual bachelor's degrees in mass communications and psychology. Her career in broadcast journalism commenced in Yakima, Washington, at the CBS affiliate network, KIMA, and further developed at CNN, where she initially joined as a general assignment correspondent for CNN Newsource. Throughout her career, Keilar has undertaken various roles at CNN, including as a White House correspondent, senior political correspondent, and anchor for "New Day" (CNN, 2013-22). Her work has earned her notable recognition, such as the White House Correspondent's Association's 2014 Aldo Beckman Memorial Award and the 2009 National Press Foundation Everett McKinley Dirksen Award. In April 2023, during a restructuring of CNN's programming, Keilar began as co-host of the 3-hour afternoon show "CNN News Central" (CNN, 2023- ).
