Hans Beimler
Hans Beimler began his career in Hollywood as an assistant director in the early 1980s on films like "Night Shift" and "Splash" before becoming a screenwriter. The Mexico City native made his writing debut by penning one episode of "Shadow Chasers" in 1985 and gained more consistent work as a writer on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" in 1988; he was later promoted to producer. After ending work on the show in 1990, Beimler wrote single episodes for sci-fi and thriller series like "She-Wolf of London," "Beyond Reality," and "TekWar"; he also executively produced and directed the one episode of "TekWar" he wrote. In 1994 he returned to the "Star Trek" family by writing and producing episodes of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" until 1999, when he began work on the series "Profiler" as both writer and executive producer. He was also credited as a writer and producer for several more series in the 2000s including "The District" and "The Dresden Files." In 2008, Beimler executive produced all 11 episodes of the science fiction drama series "The Middleman." His writing career continued in 2010 when he wrote the screenplay for the made-for-TV movie "Riverworld," which was directed by critically acclaimed filmmaker Stuart Gillard.
