Cinematographer Jamie Barber earned recognition in Hollywood for his innovative, and cost-cutting, techniques with high-definition digital video. Barber is best known for his work on such popular series as "The O.C.," "Roswell," and "Covert Affairs," and his eye for luxurious visual detail -- akin to theatrical films--made him the "go-to guy" for TV shows desiring a big-ticket look on a small budget. After a humble start as an assistant cameraman on action films like "Days of Thunder" (1990), "The Last Boy Scout (1991), and "Speed 2: Cruise Control" (1997), Barber got his big break as a first assistant cameraman on the blockbuster to end all blockbusters, director James Cameron's "Titanic"(1997). Finding it difficult to advance further in feature films, Barber turned his talents to the small screen, taking his expertise in emerging digital technology to series television, beginning in 1999 with the sci-fi thriller "Roswell." He later brought his lavish filmic look to teen drama "The O.C.," the critically-panned remake of the '80s series "Knight Rider," and the Piper Perabo-starred espionage drama "Covert Affairs."
