Having made his screen debut opposite Maria De Madeiros in the 1996 TV movie "La Femme r'vée," French actor Jean-Pierre Lazzerini subsequently carved a niche for himself playing characters with a proprietorial air, taking the roles of the garage seller in the industrial relations comedy "Golden Boy," the café owner in the older woman romance "A Major Inconvenience," and the principal in the drugs drama "Un Pur moment de rock'n roll." In 2001, he headlined a couple of shorts, as Dr. Watson in Hervé Ganem's comedy whodunit "Sherlock Holmes à Trouville" and as one of the drunken quartet involved in a hit-and-run accident in Marc Andréoni's "Balibalo." However, he still had to be content with minor supports in comic blockbusters like "Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra" and such indie crime dramas as "La Cuirasse" and "Nickel and Dime." Lazzerini was next seen as a taxi driver in Agnés Jaoui's father-daughter comedy "Look at Me" (2004) and an editor in Fabienne Godet's mid-life crisis saga "Burnt Out." He followed those roles with guest spots in TV crime shows like "Boulevard du Palais," "La Crim'" and "The Eagle" and bit parts in such big-screen comedies as the sci-fi spoof "A Ticket to Space," the crumbling country chateau farce "Les Aristos" and the cross-dressing romp "Madame Irma." In 2008, he landed the recurring role of Franck Chabot in the sitcom "Les Bougon" and played the commissioner in the cop comedy "Halal police d'État."
