Rachel Kempson began her acting career playing a supporting role in Girl in Distress (1942). In 1955, she left acting until 1963 when she reappeared in Tom Jones. Kempson was married to the late Michael Redgrave and is the mother of distinguished actors Vanessa, Lynn, and Corin Redgrave.
