Sepp Schauer
A late bloomer, actor Sepp Schauer worked as an innkeeper before deciding to pursue acting at age 30. Born in Germany in 1949, the aspiring actor studied with opera star Christine Görner before finding work onstage at the Iberl-Bühne theater in Munich. Finding himself cast in minor parts in television productions--such as his uncredited 1983 bit part in "Monaco Franze - der ewige Stenz" and a small role in the 1987 series "Zur Freiheit"--Schauer worked steadily for a decade before finally achieving recognition for his work in the 1993 series "Wildbach." As the 1990s wore on, Schauer found himself cast in more prominent roles in television series such as "Tatort," "Riding the Storm," and "SOKO 5113," although major success still eluded him. In 2001, the actor gained acclaim for his work in the Adolf Grimme Award-winning miniseries "Der Tanz mit dem Teufel - Die Entführung des Richard Oetker," and on the heels of this success came roles in the series "München 7" and "Utta Danella." After more than 20 years of effort, Schauer's ship finally came in when he was given the role of Alfons Sonnbichler in the popular 2005 telenova "Sturm der Liebe," a part that would bring him nationwide fame. He juggles his TV work with stage performances, music, and comedy.
