In future years, it is more than likely than the serpentine ABC-TV series "Lost" will achieve the eternal cult status of other entries such as "Star Trek" and "The Prisoner." As such, American actor Terry O'Quinn is destined to be remembered most for his Emmy Award winning portrayal of the character named after British philosopher John Locke. O'Quinn's work on the 2004-2010 J.J. Abrams series came after notable recurring work as a law enforcement or military official in several other TV franchises. He was Admiral Thomas Boone on the legal drama "JAG," General Omar Santiago on the sci-fi series "Harsh Realm," FBI Assistant Director Kendall on the spy series "Alias," and General Nicholas Alexander on the political drama "The West Wing." His TV series career began modestly in the early 1980s with single episode appearances on shows such as the cop drama "Miami Vice." Alongside his early TV work, O'Quinn also scored an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his portrayal of a demented, fact-inspired serial killer in the 1987 thriller "The Stepfather," which spawned a sequel two years later. O'Quinn has also played four different characters for creator Chris Carter in the sci-fi hit "The X-Files." O'Quinn also worked with Carter on the crime drama series "Millenium." O'Quinn and "Lost" co-star Michael Emerson plan to co-star in a new show "Odd Jobs" produced by J.J. Abrams.
