Troy Melton was a big screen film actor known for powerful performances. He had a part on the television special "Prudence and the Chief" (ABC, 1969-1970). In the beginning of his Hollywood career, Melton acted in films like the adventure sequel "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates" (1956) with Fess Parker. He also starred in the TV movies "Wild Women" (ABC, 1970-71) and "A Cry in the Wilderness" (ABC, 1973-74). In the seventies and the eighties, he acted in "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" (1978) with Nancy Allen, the action film "The Baltimore Bullet" (1980) with James Coburn and the comedy "Buddy Buddy" (1981) with Jack Lemmon. He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" (ABC, 1974-75). Melton continued to exercise his talent in the eighties, taking on a mix of projects like "The Sword and the Sorcerer" (1982) starring Lee Horsley, "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" (1985) starring Paul Reubens and "Deadly Care" (CBS, 1986-87). His credits also expanded to "Alien Nation" (1988) and "Dead Heat" (1988) starring Treat Williams. Melton more recently appeared in "Nick Knight" (CBS, 1988-89).
