Tomatometer-approved critic

I'm a Toronto-based film writer and critic focused on horror, fantasy, and sci-fi genres. I founded, where I deep dive into race and representation of people of color in genre film, or lack thereof. I'm also a film programmer for the Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival, and a contributing author to the first edition of the Women in Horror Annual, The Encyclopedia of Japanese Horror Films (Rowman & Littlefield), and the Encyclopedia of Racism in American Films (Rowman & Littlefield). You can find other pieces I've written on diversity and women in sci-fi on, and film reviews on, the Rue Morgue blog and print magazine, and Hollywood Suite. You can also hear me on Reely Melanated, a podcast I co-host where we discuss films we love.
