Carolina Caroline (2025) 100% EDIT “Carolina Caroline feels like a fun and sexy joyride.” – Shade Studios Jan 20, 2026 Full Review Motor City (2025) 70% EDIT “It feels like a gritty MTV music video fused with old-school revenge flicks like something from Sisu set against that worn-down '70s Detroit grit.” – Shade Studios Jan 19, 2026 Full Review Couture (2025) 62% EDIT “Couture will help to open your eyes up to a character-driven look at fashion that's more about resilience and connection than spectacle.” – Shade Studios Jan 19, 2026 Full Review David (2025) 76% EDIT “There’s enough adventure and fun to keep the whole family watching without getting bored.” – Shade Studios Jan 14, 2026 Full Review A Private Life (2025) 81% EDIT “Foster is magnetic here, speaking fluent French throughout in her first major French-language lead role. She slips seamlessly into this world of Parisian bourgeoisie.” – Shade Studios Jan 14, 2026 Full Review Zootopia 2 (2025) 91% EDIT “For those who’ve long awaited the sequel that follows it predecessor almost a full ten years later this one will help you to reminisce on how good that original film was and why this one is able to still stand strong.” – Shade Studios Jan 10, 2026 Full Review The Housemaid (2025) 74% 8.0 / 10 EDIT “If you want the perfect girls’ night out flick that’s messy and sexy, gives you that satisfying petty-revenge rush, and knows it’s just here to be a damn good time… this is the one.” – Shade Studios Dec 23, 2025 Full Review Wicked: For Good (2025) 66% EDIT “The talent is obviously there (Erivo and Grande are giving everything), but it’s wasted on a story that didn’t need the extra two-and-a-half hours. Sometimes less really is more, and Wicked: For Good is proof.” – Shade Studios Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) 92% EDIT “A whodunnit murder mystery in a church feels almost wrong, and that’s exactly what makes it genius.” – Shade Studios Nov 25, 2025 Full Review Little Amélie or the Character of Rain (2025) 98% EDIT “It’s got a faint whiff of Boss Baby energy, but where that one goes hard on the jokes, Little Amélie trades the gags for something far more honest and grounded.” – Shade Studios Nov 19, 2025 Full Review Hedda (2025) 89% EDIT “The movie oozes with sensuality from the word go and it's all Tessa Thompson as Hedda Gabler holding court. ” – Shade Studios Oct 21, 2025 Full Review Space Cadet (2025) EDIT “This animation proves that no matter the age, it can resonate across a variety of generations, turning personal loss into a touch of universal wonder.” – Shade Studios Oct 4, 2025 Full Review The Smashing Machine (2025) 70% EDIT “The Smashing Machine coalesces into a poignant dissection of Kerr's fractures, coaxing empathy for a titan scarred by trauma.” – Shade Studios Oct 4, 2025 Full Review Eleanor the Great (2025) 67% EDIT “For those who’ve lost a loved one and felt alone, this story hits home, though Squibb’s bursts of comedy keep you from being completely in tears.” – Shade Studios Sep 26, 2025 Full Review After the Hunt (2025) 37% EDIT “Twists and turns are welcome in films, but overdoing them can leave the audience confused. Having some answers is always appreciated, but it’s frustrating when the film provides few resolutions.” – Shade Studios Sep 25, 2025 Full Review Tuner (2025) 97% EDIT “Hoffman and Woodall, an unexpected partnership, demonstrate exceptional synergy in their work as piano tuners introducing viewers to aspects of the craft that are not commonly depicted in films. ” – Shade Studios Sep 21, 2025 Full Review Christy (2025) 67% EDIT “Christy rips the curtain off female boxers’ fight to survive, in the ring and out, with Sydney Sweeney unleashing a performance that burns with Christy Martin’s raw, untamed fire.” – Shade Studios Sep 20, 2025 Full Review Waltzing with Brando (2024) 56% EDIT “You really start to piece together the real legacy that Brando left behind, one that was like no other, and understand how privacy was one of the things Brando valued the most over fame. ” – Shade Studios Sep 15, 2025 Full Review Materialists (2025) 77% EDIT “The Materialists charms with its originality, blending rom-com tropes with a skeptical eye on love’s commodification, but it falls short of the emotional depth that made Past Lives linger.” – Shade Studios Aug 14, 2025 Full Review Freakier Friday (2025) 73% EDIT “Freakier Friday nails the balance of honoring the original while carving its own path. The four leads—Lohan, Curtis, Butters, and Hammons—are a powerhouse, their dynamic carrying the film through its wilder moments.” – Shade Studios Aug 13, 2025 Full Review Sketch (2024) 95% EDIT “Kudos to Worley for nailing his first full-length outing with such flair. This isn't some bloated blockbuster relying on A-listers to carry the weight; it's a tight, organic blend where every actor feels like they've been mixed on the same palette. ” – Shade Studios Aug 6, 2025 Full Review My Oxford Year (2025) 29% EDIT “The storyline often feels diluted, skimming over pivotal emotional beats that could have mirrored the gravitas of "Shakespeare in Love" or the steamy intensity Mylchreest brought to Young King George in "Queen Charlotte."” – Shade Studios Aug 6, 2025 Full Review The Bad Guys 2 (2025) 87% EDIT “In a cinematic year brimming with sequels, remakes, and franchise revivals, The Bad Guys 2 struts onto the screen with the swagger of a seasoned crook but the caution of a reformed one.” – Shade Studios Aug 5, 2025 Full Review Smurfs (2025) 21% EDIT “The uneven mix of live-action and animation, coupled with a lackluster story and underused talent, keeps it from reaching the heights of its predecessors.” – Shade Studios Aug 5, 2025 Full Review Man Finds Tape (2025) 82% EDIT “Like a cryptic VHS found in a dusty barn, it’s intriguing but leaves you wishing for a clearer picture of its horrors. ” – Shade Studios Jul 30, 2025 Full Review
