Day Shift (2022) Bob Grimm Foxx deserves better...although the few minutes Snoop Dogg spends on screen are almost cool.

4.5/5
The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021) Bob Grimm Joel Coen has himself a good bloody time with the Bard, and Denzel Washington goes wonderfully nuts.

Don't Look Up (2021) Bob Grimm It's as dark and nasty as it needs to be, and it's a glorious thing.

5/5
West Side Story (2021) Bob Grimm Spielberg makes a classic to rank with his best. Elgort and Zegler are both wonderful.

The Truffle Hunters (2020) Bob Grimm Unquestionably, the most amazing movie about truffles that I have ever seen.

Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) Bob Grimm It's at least twice as good as the original cut...but it still isn't good.

Minari (2020) Bob Grimm This is the best film of 2020 (Sound of Metal is a close second).

4.5/5
Sound of Metal (2019) Bob Grimm Riz Ahmed is a legit Oscar contender.

4/5
Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020) Bob Grimm Feels more like a play than a movie, but it's a good play and the acting is terrific.
Posted Dec 27, 2020Edit critic review
3.5/5
Mank (2020) Bob Grimm It's sort of like "Arthur" as an art film, and I think that's a good thing.

4/5
Zappa (2020) Bob Grimm I miss Frank...a lot.

2.45/5
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) Bob Grimm Bland courtroom scenes, hokey dialogue and terrible wigs.
Posted Oct 25, 2020Edit critic review
2.75/5
Hubie Halloween (2020) Bob Grimm Accomplishes its goal of delivering stupid, lame comedy where many of the gags land. As for me, I need one of those from Sandler every couple of years.

I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020) Bob Grimm This one will mess you up.
Posted Sep 27, 2020Edit critic review

Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020) Bob Grimm It's the worst the franchise has to offer, but it's still a good time. Keanu seems a little bored, but Winter is on point.

7500 (2019) Bob Grimm It's a taut thriller when it's in the air, and a dud when it's on the ground.

Artemis Fowl (2020) Bob Grimm There is just no need for this sort of thing.

3.5/5
The King of Staten Island (2020) Bob Grimm Semi-autobiographical comedy featuring Pete Davidson is another winner from Apatow thanks to good work from its star and a superb supporting cast. The film has a different vibe than the usual Apatow effort, and it works.

The Wrong Missy (2020) Bob Grimm Yeah...this isn't very good.
Posted Jun 05, 2020Edit critic review
