Audience Reviews for Ariel

Ariel is definitely an interesting film. Taisto is fighting back from his previous failures, and this time with fellow cellmate friend - Mikkonen. It is no-doubtingly a good film. It sure as hell as some interesting characters, and I found Riku was a really cool kid from the start. Overall, I found it to be a quite enjoyable flick.

Signature imagery and themes, delivered with deadpan humor, this is my favorite Kaurismaki film. Subtle, yet hilarious!

Awfully similar to Drifting Clouds, although different in enough ways too. Working-class guy, string of bad luck, vaguely happy ending. Long takes, relevant soundtrack, offscreen action, minimal dialogue, very dry humor.
