It does get at something dark and wormy in American masculinity.

Bad horror almost saved due to Silverstone's 'hotness' factor.

Audience Reviews for The Babysitter

I began figuring out what exactly was going on after half time passing. Film tone too serious, messy execution, while Alicia Silverstone was one big miscast to me.

Alicia Silverstone was never a good enough actress to belong in Hollywood very long. Other than Clueless (a role that fit her perfectly because, hell, that's who she is) she is best known for those Aerosmith videos where, not surprisingly, she has ZERO dialogue. This movie is forgettable. Not an ounce of decent dialogue and a storyline that borders on a cheap porno, except there's no pornography. Of all the women I'd want to lust after Silverstone is one of the absolute last, which is puzzling to me because it seems all of the male characters in this silly turd want to lust after her. Yeah. she's a babysitter, but aren't most pornos based on lusting after the babysitter? You think the scriptwriters would've figured out that correlation. I reccomend you avoid this mess. Like the plague.

Just icky. She's too freaking young, plus the dialog is awful. I tried to watch this when it was near-new, and I could never finish.
