Jon M @RT75884080 12h Although this review is being made in 2026, and this show was out 42 years ago, where I watched it, I have also rewatched it again this year, and once again was blown away by the brilliant acting of Jenny Seagrove and Deborah Kerr, both acted their socks off in this and they pulled off an amazing show. The story, in the three parts was concise and showed how to make a mini series, and make it perfect, they had more in three episodes than they did in the 2026 remake, which was eight episodes, that eight episode show was not a patch on the original, and thats where it wins, it was so great that it just can not be beaten. There were secondary roles played by Sir John Mills, John Duttine, Peter Egan, Gayle Hunnicutt, Barry Morse, the A-Lister Liam Neeson, Miranda Richardson, George Baker, Megs Jenkins, Jean Ferguson and so many more British actors and actresses, they took the story to a level that will not be beaten, and the remake, which I have reviewed separately, is not as good ! See more zorn 2 @RT95149017 6d they changed the ending. plus, most of the show is the patriarch sniffing his wife’s dressing gown. it’s an insult to the text, it’s a dystopian propaganda piece. at one point the butler says "to them we’re wallpaper" and the ending confirms this. unbelievable. Decent compared to todays over done trash. A bit Soap Opera in style, yet enjoyable due to the fine cast and sets.
