I would argue that it is a love story to musical theater. It shows you what theater can do, which is why I'm so glad that they chose to film the stage show instead of trying to adapt it, because I think you'd lose the magic. You'd lose the spark.

Fantastic musical. Well-written. Masterfully performed by the leads. The only downside is the theater experience. People were adding commentary ranging from a whisper to yelling out at the screen. Unfortunate. It really detracted from the movie.

This is my favorite musical of all time and the proshot is beautifully put together! I highly recommend this musical to any and everyone (I brought a friend who didn’t like musicals and he loved it)!
