The stars are gone. The planets have disappeared. Only individuals aboard space stations or starships were left to give the end a name -- The Quiet Rapture. After decades of decay and crumbling infrastructure, the Consolidation of Iron has made a discovery on a barren moon designated AT-5. An ocean of blood. Hoping to discover desperately needed resources they immediately launch an expedition. A submarine is crafted and a convict is welded inside. Due to the pressure and depth of the ocean the forward viewport has been encased in metal. If successful, they will earn their freedom. If not, another will follow. This will be the 13th expedition.

“Iron Lung” is audacious and at times astonishingly boring. Still, it feels more enthusiastic and celebratory than many blockbuster adaptations built on safer math. Go to Full Review

The lethargic editing sadly brings the film down a few pegs, because while there is a lot to admire about Iron Lung in terms of how it’s shot and performed, especially within such a confined setting, the pacing does leave you feeling rather bored. Go to Full Review

For far too long, we watch Fischbach turn knobs. We watch him look at screens. We watch him write down things. And sometimes, we watch him argue with voices on the other side of the radio. But it’s very rarely engaging. Go to Full Review

Incoherent and relentlessly dull, Iron Lung (written, directed, and starring YouTube personality Markiplier) is a misguided horror movie based on the video game. When will social media stars learn that on-camera fame doesn't equal filmmaking talent? Go to Full Review

It felt like it was kind of floundering, trying to include different aspects, [and] lore and then just filling up runtime with dead air. Go to Full Review

There's some solid, creepy atmosphere and tone in here. Markiplier shows some talent here. Go to Full Review

Zee 21m A Amazing movie, absolutely terrified and pulled into the story. See more Ash 32m Amazing! So so happy for Markiplier and definitely not disappointed. The story and quality of the film was very enjoyable. See more Michael 40m Very okay. As a passion project, you can see the effort put into making this movie a reality, but that doesn’t take away from the slow pacing and the lack of a stable plot. If you love indie and experimental movies, it’s definitely worth a watch. If you like movies with an engaging story and cast, this isn’t for you. See more David 46m Interesting and attention grabbing for pretty much the whole movie. There was a part here and there mainly in the beginning and one particular seen towards the middle that lost me. In all, it was a solid movie and Markipliers acting caught me by surprise very well done. One last thing I have to say is the camera work was great and the cgi was also surprisingly good for the budget the film had. See more Annie 47m Love this movie. Doesn’t disappoint. So good. See more Skylar 49m I'm a big fan of the game, I like Markiplier, but I unfortunately thought this movie was mediocre. The pacing was all over the place, going from very fast to very slow at multiple points in the movie. It made it feel like there was less consequence when things would speed up later in the movie. The story felt bloated in some areas and lacking explanation in others, making the movie less impactful. There were good parts of the movie and I think it's more good than bad. I love the premise of the movie and game in general, and I think the movie was at its best when at the slow parts, but I do think it would've had to be a shorter movie if it was going to keep a slow pace. Ultimately, it's not bad for someone's first feature film, but the good parts of the movie aren't impactful enough for me to recommend it, but the bad parts aren't so bad that I'd actively steer people away from watching it See more Read all reviews
