Dame Judi Dench is so wonderful in everything she does. This was a delightful movie. The 50-year-flash-backs were handled exceptionally well. The current year story-line was not interfered with, and was very enjoyable. Nice movie!
I wouldn't watch it again but it was kinda sweet.

Judi Dench carried this film and she is so wonderful! The story was charming: Older people attempting to re-live their youth. You've seen a bit of it before in "Calendar Girls". One quote in this film struck me: "Old people are just young people who have been around a long time." If you like that kind of theme, and love 1940's swing band music, then this one might be for you. SYNOPSIS: When Elizabeth (Judi Dench) runs into Patrick (Ian Holm) after 50 years, they decide to rekindle their relationship. However, this is not your usual love affair. Elizabeth and Patrick have one passion: music. During World War II, Elizabeth fronted an all-girl swing band (the Blonde Bombshells) while Patrick managed their tour of army camps. In the interest of nostalgia, and returning to music, the two decide to reunite the band one last time.
