  • Here's the lowdown on the latest chapter in Mortal Kombat: deadly dull.

  • Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is not just a movie based on a video game, it is a sequel to a movie that was based on a video game. That pedigree should tell you all you need to know about the quality of this movie.

  • The filmmakers tried to get complicated -- and pay a price. The story lines are obviously designed to link the fight scenes, leading to moments of hilariously bad dialogue.

  • Never -- at least not since the first Mortal Kombat -- has tedium been so loud, so full of backward flips and flying fists to the kissers of centaurs from another realm.

  • The first sequel to 1995's highly successful Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat Annihilation adds little to the development of the saga except for a truckload of martial arts sequences and a whole mess of bigger and louder special effects.

Clearly a catastrophe as a sequel and overall film. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is forgettable, inconsistent and filled with mediocrity that's insulting to the famed-fighting-game that it's inspired by. 2/5

After the first was a box office success and fans of the game were pretty much happy with the film, It was obvious a sequel would come and spoil the first and it did, It picks up right from where the first ended but we only have 2 of the original cast, So straight away we moan plus it was a very poor acting performance by all the cast, The plot of the first film was silly but it felt faithfull to the game but in this one it was just silly and felt very lazy, With cheap special effects and poor action scenes there's nothing to shout about in this movie except that they added more characters from the game but most were under used, It's cheap, Lazy and should never have been made but at least the soundtrack is still as cool as ever.

The choreography was improved for sure, but the dialogues and plot did not. Aside from ridiculousness, they actually tried really hard with the costumes. I chuckled a lot with the random subplot of Jade and the neck breaking of Ermac.

Bad acting, special effects and direction ruin what could of been an interesting follow up to the original.
