Jessica Drummond (Barbara Stanwyck) is grieving after her husband's death and attempting to raise two sons alone. While on a ski holiday, she meets and falls for Maj. Scott Landis (George Brent). Their relationship is short-lived, and Jessica returns home and starts dating a new man, Frank Everett (Warner Anderson). But, when Scott moves into town, romantic confusion sets in.
