Dated morality play about policing in the grey areas with a lot of earnest handwringing and intense moody acting.
Filmov prvpat go gledav pred tocno 20 godini vo kino Centar (sega Milenium) i bev voodusheven, Go nacekav na TV i go izgledav pak povtorno da se potsetam. Fenomenalno!!! Znaci nema veke ovakvi filmovi i nema :(
Rezija e Sidney Lumet, a igraat Andy Garcia, Richard Dreyfuss, Ian Holm i James Gandolfini...
Excellent making in all departments typical ti Lumet movies. Brilliant portraits by Garcia and Dreyfuss.
It's overstuffed with plot, characters, and speeches (so many, many speeches). Like most of Lumet's later work the film plays like a poor imitation of his earlier and better morality thrillers.
Not bad. Not as slow a courtroom drama as I feared early on.
A forgotten gem in the Lumet stable......fine morality play.
Lumet foda demais. Revivam este homem.
While it may not be as nail biting or tense as past Lumet legal dramas, ´Night Falls´is a more intimate piece dealing with a good man forced to make morally questionable choices. Tight pacing, a sense of heart and very strong leads easily make this film very digestible past its lack of major conflict at times.
Good police and legal system drama about trying to keep your morals in the law enforcement and justice department.
I admired Lumet's speedy structure, like a good crime novel, always flowing with aggressive intent and colorful dialogue. Sometimes it suffered from being too speedy, from colliding into the climax instead of leading into it, and also, less importantly, is my complete lack of response to Andy Garcia.
