"Night of the Creeps" is a cult-movie by Fred Dekker with a funny story of aliens, slugs and zombies. This movie is a sort of comedy and tribute to the zombie, slasher and sci-fi genres. There are good performances, the make-up is great and the lead actress Jill Whitlow is cute. This film follows the formula of B-movie inclusive with many beautiful legs and breasts in the sorority house. The conclusion is a cliffhanger for a never made sequel. My vote is seven. The cast is solid and clearly having fun, especially the great Tom Atkins Det. Cameron, delivering the best lines with the right mix of gravitas. Behind the camera, writer/director Fred Dekker crafts a fun alien/zombie movie that pays homage to past horror/sci-fi, including the 1950's (as shown with the black & white prologue). There are a few plot holes, such as just why a guy was kept frozen for 30 years but the rest of the film is so fun you won't care, especially the gore filled ending at the sorority house. This is a fantastic 80s horror movie, with good performances across the board, an incredible soundtrack, and just the right of Tom Atkins...never enough. More than a slice of 80s shlock, it's funny, scary, and bad ass. In the words of Mr. Atkins himself...THRILL ME. Em 1986, Chris se apaixona por Cindy e convence a seu amigo J.C< a entrarem em uma fraternidade para poder conquistá-la. O trote que lhes passam é pegar um corpo no necrotério e deixá-lo na frente de uma fraternidade rival. No necrotério, eles encontram o corpo congelado do jovem do 1959. Ao retirá-lo do tubo onde ele estava, Chris e J.C. se assustam quando o corpo mexe e fogem. O que eles não sabem que vermes alienígenas estavam no cérebro do morto e eles o transformam em um zumbi para espalhar ainda mais os vermes espaciais. Fred Dekker pegou tudo do que ele gostava de assistir quando criança e criou esta divertida película: zumbis, vermes alienígenas, serial killers, terror, ficção científica, filmes adolescentes e humor. Ele acabou se tornando um cult. Com um orçamento baixo, há bastante criatividade nos efeitos práticos e nas maquiagens em geral. O filme tornou Tom Atkins um dos queridos dos filmes de terror. O seu personagem, o detetive Ray Cameron, é muito divertido e conquista a audiência fácil. O outro destaque é Steve Marshall, como J.C. Ele consegue construir um personagem bem complexo, mesclando a questão da sua deficiência motora, com um humor sarcástico e uma empatia cativante. O resto do elenco está OK, sem comprometer. Este filme se tornou uma influência para muitos filmes de terror posteriores, como por exemplo Slithers, de James Gunn, apesar de ir por outro caminho. Noite dos Arrepios é um filme divertido que convida o público para uma caça de easter eggs, que soube misturar tudo, sem parecer excessivo e cumpre o seu papel como entretenimento.
