Oxygen’s relevance strikes like lightning in a year when time is measured less by Earth’s tilt and more by first wave, second wave, red phase, yellow phase; not by time passing daily, but by how much danger remains in the room. Go to Full Review

Starring a superb Mélanie Laurent, Alexandre Aja’s Oxygen is both a claustrophobic survival thriller and an introspective drama about memory, identity, and the ethics of scientific advancement. Go to Full Review

Oxygen is a phenomenal example of one-location filmmaking done right. Brutal moral dilemmas, surprising discoveries about the mysterious protagonist, and a fantastic one-woman show from Mélanie Laurent keep the slow, flashback-heavy narrative engrossing. Go to Full Review

Richard R @probablyseenit34 6h Fun story if you want a drama with space as a uninteresting background, Cause its got terrible science. They have working cryopods, can travel at a little under half the speed of light (They cover 14 light years in 34 years) they have instant communications (main character makes a call to the cops radio waves travel at light speed would still mean 14 years to ask for help and another 14 years to get a reply so 28 years total....) Yet the main point of the movie is earth is dying and only some people are being saved to start over.... Bad science all around considering our biggest struggle with mars right now is the fact communications delay is somewhere between 3 mins when mars is closest and 22 mins at the furthest point and our fastest rockets still take 9 months when mars is closest to us. million more reasons I could list but not so interesting story combined with bad science is a no go from me champ See more Gail TheWriterStuff J Jan 11 A lot of improbability and over long. Still it was an interesting watch. See more Shelley Ann V @Shells Dec 28 Original. Intriguing. Thought provoking. AI is only as clever as the questions you ask. See more Donald P Sep 16 Incredible that the only featured speaking character is Melanie Laurant as Elizabeth Hanson. The only other discernable adult character is Alexandre Aja, who, other than memory flashbacks, appears for only a few seconds at the end. The acting required to hold the movie for the full period fell entirely upon Melanie, and it was phenomenal. She deserves an actress award! See more Igor S Aug 24 Simple but effective movie. Even if a little predictable, it still kept me interested throughout. Due to it being a claustrophobic and restrained type of movie, it needed someone who could deliver every single line, convincingly and with emotional weight, and Mélanie Laurent did. What an acting powerhouse! See more Gargi N Aug 19 Movie (Oxygen) really surprised me. Even though the whole story happens in one small space, it kept me hooked the entire time. Mélanie Laurent did an amazing job — you can actually feel her fear, confusion, and determination. The movie is intense, full of twists, and makes you think deeply about survival and humanity. A must-watch if you like smart thrillers. See more Read all reviews
