Okay... hands down some of the greatest scenery in any Western. And there is a lot of it – overpowering the meagre story & standard (though certainly watchable) performances to make this a must-see. The cinematography is questionable in some of the closer shots but whenever the main character groups are travelling through the gorgeous landscapes – which again, takes up a large part of the film – your jaw will just drop. I guess it's hard to make the Canadian wilderness look bad, but you will really be amazed by some of these shots.
Viewers will enjoy the staggering beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in this no-nonsense, fast-paced, colorful story of a patrol of scarlet-coated Mounties guiding a diverse group of passengers over a perilous mountain pass while pursued and constantly noodged by Indians... This Mountie Gets Shelley Winters--This is a solid b-movie western that does all that you expect it to and, if that is what you want, you'll enjoy it... Mounties, Cree and the Sioux!!
Some lush scenery and likeable characters, but the movie hasn't dated well. It's basically an American cowboys vs. indians tale, but with mounties. Doesn't look historically accurate either.
