Critic Reviews for S.O.B.
Black comedy is a tough commodity to sustain and, after a broad start, Edwards quickly finds a deft balance that paints a cockeyed, self-contained world that comfortably supports its exaggerated characters.July 22, 2008 | Full Review…
It seems more like an expectorant for Edwards' bile than an entertainment aimed at an audience.June 24, 2006 | Full Review…
It's a nasty, biased, self-serving movie that also happens to be hilarious most of the time.August 30, 2004 | Full Review…
What I regard as Edwards' crowning achievement. It is a wickedly funny, impeccably cast, ingeniously subversive satire of the Hollywood film industry.March 10, 2003 | Full Review…
...SOB lives up to its title, and like the central character it describes, it's a hot, sticky mess that's hard to scrape off your shoe....April 18, 2021 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…
Aside from a joke and an entertaining scene here and there, the movie lacks humor and repeats itself. [Full Review in Spanish]August 20, 2019 | Full Review…
Audience Reviews for S.O.B.
Mar 16, 2021A once famous actor from a popular series falls over dead on a popular beach in broad daylight - and nobody notices. For days. That's the opening broadside in Blake Edwards' jab at the film industry. Mostly forgotten nowadays but for Julie Andrews baring her breasts, and that's kinda Blake's point too: everybody's in on the hustle, even we, the audience. There's loads of dark here, enough for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but it's all told with a smile. Good stuff.Kevin M. W Super Reviewer
Jun 27, 2011I mostly watched this to see Julie Andrews 45 yr old boobies. Guess what? They were fantastic! The movie was decent too, but no masterpiece.Wu C Super Reviewer

May 24, 2008This movie has an amazing cast and a great deal of potential but it's a little too all over the place. But...it has one of my favorite things in the world of movies...Squeaky clean actors I like/love doing/saying inappropriate things! Julie Andrews appears topless and says some bad words and, for me, that makes it almost worth recommending.Sunil J Super Reviewer
