It was a wonder if this film would go the route of a David Cronenberg film and really push the body horror. It doesn't. Peter's puberty is less a physical transformation, as it is an emotional one.

Spider-Man makes you feel for him and everyone around him. It was an immersive, sweet film but also very sad. I didn’t expect to cry this much. It was still aspirational. I loved the cinematography and the flying scenes were gorgeous.

I thought the movie was visually stunning, and a lot more emotional than the previous Spider-Man movies in the Tom Holland iteration. Spider-Man in this movie generally feels like a struggling New Yorker and that helped and encapsulate a lonely, sad aesthetic in this movie that is unlike other hopeful Spider-Man movies. Tom’s acting in this movie was superb just like his other Spider-Man movies. I did find Jean Grey to be somewhat not intimidating. Peter and Frank‘s relationship and overall dynamic with each other is great and like a father and son role Frank softens up and Peter hardens up in this movie and they both contrast so well with each other. I still think I enjoy the last iteration of the Spider-Man movie, but this was a close second.

Very classic vibes. Sort of a return to spider-man homecoming with sprinkles of the amazing spider-man and comic book homage. Pretty messy first half, but it’s locked in for the second half. Very emotional + epic fight sequences. You can tell everyone who worked on it cared.
