Aboard the USS Enterprise, the most-sophisticated starship ever built, a novice crew embarks on its maiden voyage. Whether watching Kirk and Sulu skydive from space, a rural Mid-West dotted with vast interstellar towers, or Kirk do battle with a very ill-tempered beastie on a frozen moon, it's hard not to gape in wonder.

This is not a Star Trek entry intended to please its hardcore fan base. It casts its net out to ensnare a wider audience. One laments what is lost in that endeavor, but it’s also hard to deny how splendid the ride can be in the end.

If you are afraid of the ‘Star Trek’ brand don’t be… Abrams has done a wonderful job separating this from the past films and TV shows and you can watch this as an action sci-fi film that stands on it’s own two feet.

This movie was a wonderful prelude to tell the backstory of the NCC-1701 crew! It’s even better watching it in theaters because you get to pickup on all the subtle nuances of the storyline that just really pulls it al together. This was the start of a wonderful trilogy!

I absolutely loved Star Trek. It’s the perfect mix of action, adventure, and character-driven storytelling. The reboot does a great job of making the franchise feel fresh while still respecting what made it iconic. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto have fantastic chemistry as Kirk and Spock, and their dynamic really carries the film. The pacing is fast without feeling rushed, and the visuals and space sequences still look great. I also liked how it balances humor with more serious moments, making it accessible without losing depth. Overall, I’d give it a 10/10—it’s an exciting, well-made reboot that’s both entertaining and memorable from start to finish.
