What to Know

Critics Consensus

Bountiful in action but threadbare in narrative thrust with its episodic structure, this Star Wars is more of a skirmish that coasts on the charm of its central dynamic duo.

Audience Says

Drawing on the strength of the series and the undeniable chemistry of the coolest duo since Chewbacca and Solo, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu confidently reaffirms that “this is the way.”

The story is thin: Mando zaps around the cosmos bringing imperial fugitives to justice and accruing serious enemies along the way. But the execution is impressive. Go to Full Review

The idea of a movie that went back to what the series did best, just done fancier than was possible on even a big TV budget, wasn't a bad one. But the end result is at best aggressively fine. Which is still a vast improvement over Rise of Skywalker. Go to Full Review

The first hour to The Mandalorian and Grogu is pretty good actually. But just reinforces that it should have just been a season 4 on Disney+ rather than a movie as it's edited like a thee episode arc of television. Go to Full Review

This film betrays its family-friendly modus operandi by being too cutesy by half for adult audiences, and far too violent for half the movie for younger audiences. Go to Full Review

The stakes remain too low for a movie that offers no real development for our title characters, let alone enough reason to justify a two-hour+ runtime, when 90 minutes would have done. Still, there is fun to be had. Go to Full Review

Cal 38m Interesting characters, but plot line a bit weak See more James G 39m The fight scenes are really good. The CGI of most of the characters looks pretty weak and unrealistic, and the second half of the movie is pretty boring for about 20mins. It's entertaining, but it could've been better. See more kwapt 39m Like a long episode on Mando, but good! See more MS 54m Baby Yoda was so cute! Although, the film was fun! See more Shawn 1h The movie kept with the Star Wars story lines and had a lot of action. My wife and daughter were engaged as well. See more Matthew 2h Such a fun movie. It did feel like it was a 2 hour long tv episode but it was still a great movie See more Read all reviews
