The Hunting Ground isn't director Kirby Dick's strongest work as a filmmaker, but the movie's powerful message more than trumps any technical weaknesses. Read critic reviews

Apr 29, 2017This was one of the most eye opening documentaries I have watched this year. Disappointing that this epidemic is happening and that it is so protected by almost everyone. Times need to change and the rich shall not prosper while others suffer because of social status. This film cut me to the core and has inspired me to start developing a project that will help raise awareness in my country. Disappointing women and men are exposed to this type of culture when universities have no reason to stop it because they are protecting their perfect image, dead set disgusting. Any person with a member going to university should see this film. 29/04/2017.Brendan N Super Reviewer

Feb 24, 2016Haunting, depressing, raw, true, and overwhelmingly large in numbers, "The Hunting Ground is a masterfully crafted Documentary. Following the lives of rape victims on college campuses and diving deep into their stories, was not something I was incredibly keen on viewing, but it works. Whether or not you believe every story, because there are a few questionable cases, as a film, this is one of the most effective Documentaries you will watch about this specific subject. The biggest flaw with this film (which is also it's biggest positive), is that when the statistics for each school come up, you are in awe. They begin with percentages to scare the audience and to make them want to take a stand, but once the percentages go away, the filmmakers come up with a clever way of showing what the police of each town is "not" doing. That hurt the film slightly for me, as that is not the story for them to be focussing on, but rather what is true and can be explained. "The Hunting Ground" is a very unique title for this film and I highly recommend it to anyone college-appropriate or older. This film handles very mature material and I think it is for a specific audience. Terrific documentary.

Jan 14, 2016Despite some reported issues regarding its credibility, this is a great companion piece to The Invisible War in what concerns institutionalized misogyny and brutality against women (and in this case also men) that go shockingly ignored when the interests of powerful people are involved.Carlos M Super Reviewer
