Movie Info

Known as the girl who will not die, Tomie was first the main character in a Japanese manga series. The character was later the basis for several live-action films, including this one, Tomie: Another Face. Directed by Toshiro Inomata, the film stars Runa Nagai as the mysterious Tomie, who makes her way through three separate episodic stories. First, Tomie rises from the dead out of jealousy when an opportunistic young woman jumps at the chance to rekindle a relationship with Tomie's newly single boyfriend. In the second vignette, Tomie meets a man in the park and conjures memories in his mind of a girl he once knew. Lastly, Tomie becomes a coroner's object of affection. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

A 3-parter here, originally made for television. Each story captures the essence of Tomie and shows her destructive ways. Due to their short length, it never feels like any of them are a complete story and they also cover the same ground. It's still a good watch and keeps the eerie atmosphere, even if it is made for TV. The developments in Tomie are slight, but cover the ability to multiply, resurrect and possess.

Very disappointing sequel to "Tomie." The main problem is that the cinematography looks like something you'd see on a low-budget TV sitcom. The story itself is split into three separate stories, each designed to give the viewer a better idea of who/what Tomie is. It works on that level but is so cheaply made it almost not worth it.
