A masterpiece! Incredible film, totally new, incredible long takes. It's a complete joy to watch it.

Of those rare diamonds that come out where least expected. Documentary like drama with subtle sentiment, humorous touches here and there and of course drama on the rough.

Dvortsevoy blurs the line between fiction and reality as he offers us an unforgettable peek at an almost alien universe, displaying a remarkable control of his shaky camera and capturing some incredible fortuitous shots against the barren, ruthless sight of the Kazakhstan steppe.

Sounds came out animals I never heard before. People did things to animals I never want to see again. Yet somehow this film works in an extreme culture shock sort of way.

Het leven op de steppe van Kazachstan is saai. Net zoals deze film. Rating van 96% op RottenTomatoes... Why o why?

interesting look in life as nomadic herdsman and family dynamics. more satisfying with the naturalistic style and coming of age story.

Amazing. Life on the Kazakh steppe: now you know what hardship is. Not the world we live in. Ranks with 'The Story of the Weeping Camel' as a window on that world. Hollywood eat your heart out.

It's not so much the story but the vivid evocation of a distinctive culture and landscape, with characters that may have different customs but ultimately have the same motivations and passions as everyone. Each character is depicted with warmth and humour.

Interesting movie. Filmed like a documentary, it shows a part of the world that many do not know about. It can be quite drawn out. The little girl singing was almost unbearable...
