As for the writing, this is yet another example in a too long line of 'Lets have the characters make the absolute stupidest possible decision they could ever make in any given situation.' See more Dan B @RT68017002 Jul 8 It shows how out of touch porfessional critics are that this crap is on 94% when every normal viewer is crapping all over it. It's is by far the worst thing in the Alien franchise so far, even AVP2 is better than this. It completely craps all over the story as apparently Hadleys Hope wasnt the first encounter with the Aliens, this was, they were on earth all along with annoying synths who make the dumbest decisions you've ever seen. We have our main protagonist who can communicate with the alien via annoying mouth noises making it her little lapdog. We all know originally the aliens primary goal is to create more aliens, not here, it just kills everything, told to do so by annoying mouth girl whos very remorsless for a child in a synth body. She has no issue with killing everbody in her way. I somehow sat through the entire season and by the end, I wanted everyone dead, theres no a single likable character. I certainly wont be watching season 2. See more D S @dyseu Jul 4 I quite liked the first half of the series, despite some misgivings with the lost boys section of the storyline. The latter part of the season, especially the last 2 episodes, was just terribly written. The set up for the lost boys characters was wasted imo, and Wendy's motivations and powerset makes zero sense after a certain point (she was my favorite character at the start, alongside her brother, so that was extra disappointing). The series suffers from the usual issues that plague horror movies and shows: many idiotic but supposedly competent characters, illogical motivations, etc etc, but I can suspend my disbelief. Up to a point. Anyway, the 1st part of the season reminds me of both Alien and Alien: Romulus, while the 2nd part gives off major Alien: Covenant vibes. If you liked Covenant, you'll probably enjoy this. The 1st half of the season would easily get 3.5-4★ from me; the 2nd half would get 1.25★, again mostly due to the last 2 episodes.
