PurpleStar T @RT53759285 02/28/2024 TLDR: A must watch! A breath of fresh air compared to most fantasy anime! The first 4-5 episodes are fairly slow, but do hint at and build up to the theme of the story. Once the story really starts moving all the parts set in motion, though, it is perfectly paced to keep your attention but not overwhelm! This is an absolute delight of a show. The first few episodes are slower pace, which I don't mind, but many seem to hate? It is an adorable section of the story that slowly builds up and hints at the climax, and even expresses the theme of the show multiple times BEFORE the big point where it is said explicitly, all without being overbearing! The lead character is a "secretly op" adventurer, but he isn't unbeatable, and he still acts like an actual human being! The main characters are well fleshed out, and most of the side characters have quirks about them that make them memorable or interesting! The way this show handles relation ships and two people falling in love is such a refreshing take when compared to today's norm of dancing around the topic or diving head first into a harem with 12 year olds in it. The romance plot is nicely paced and even without words, you can tell the point at which the two realized they BOTH loved the other, and moved into the next part of their relationship fluidly! There is still a big love confession scene, but it comes off more as a "you don't understand HOW MUCH I love you" instead of the repeated awkward avoidance of admitting feelings until they have no choice but to actually come out about it. Over all, a nice, fun story with mostly well done action centered moments, that focuses on characters emotions and how they develop. See more 04/04/2022 For an anime about a guy who collects herbs for his store...yeah it's as boring as you think. Highlight of the first episode, collected herbs during a wild fire in the forest. Highlight of the second episode, big breasted mercenary princess visits his store and has tea. Highlight of the third episode, baked delicious medicine cookies. Highlight of the fourth episode, Red got to know two other guys in a steam room naked...highlight for homosexuals, not me. Nothing else happened in this episode so that's all I could write about it. Highlight of the fifth episode, a guy tried to bribe Red with 50 dollar hookers. You see the trend here...I was hoping it would get better, WHY DOESN'T IT GET BETTER?! Watch if you want to see what happens to an adventurer when you neuter him. Watch Arifureta if you want to see a really good anime series, that's what I watched before this but it's not listed in RT so couldn't leave a review. See more Read all reviews
