As delusional, wannabe filmmaking brothers Jack and Ben, respectively, Alex Anfanger and Lenny Jacobson star in Comedy Central's first sitcom, which tells what happens when real life gets the better of wild celluloid fantasy. Forced to support themselves for the first time after their parents kick them out of the house, Jack and Ben devise an elaborate scheme to maintain Mom and Dad's support. But the plan backfires, setting off a grand, increasingly dangerous journey that threatens the siblings' dreams and lives. The series, says co-executive producer Ben Stiller, "combines the directorial style of Hitchcock, the acting prowess of Streep, the budget of `House of Payne,' and the nutritional value of Velveeta. I think people's minds will be blown wide open."

All with a kind of self-conscious irony that makes Big Time in Hollywood, FL so meta, it's practically post-meta and generally more interesting to think about than watch. Go to Full Review
Tim Goodman The Hollywood Reporter 03/26/2015
Big Time in Hollywood, FL works best because it takes a preposterous comic situation and turns it into a preposterous dramatic arc, which frees the show from any sitcom restraints and allows it to spoof both tired dramas and predictable comedies. Go to Full Review

Smart writing and tight performances deliver the story of two anti-heroes who are comedy's answer to Walter White. Their actions are hard to watch, but they're done so convincingly (and hilariously) that you can't turn away. Go to Full Review

Ludicrous and indulgent to the very end, Big Time in Hollywood, FL is another in a growing line of wonderfully successful quirky comedies from Comedy Central. Go to Full Review

I have to applaud Anfanger and Schmipf for taking what could have been another dull retread of slacker comedy tropes and launching it into unexpected territory. Big Time has my attention now. Go to Full Review
