Critic Reviews for Billions: Season 6
Audience Reviews for Billions: Season 6

May 10, 2022Great cast, but minus Axe, it is not the same. Elvis had left the series. So sad, good effort gang, we watched the first two episodes of season 6 but That's it.

May 04, 2022I'm sorry to say that Season 6 of this show is absolutely horrendous. The writers this season have taken what were once cleverly but sparsely sprinkled references to pop culture and now made them 80 percent of the dialogue. What's worse is that they also seem to think that they can all of a sudden flip the entire moral paradigm of most of the key characters overnight and get the audience to buy in. I don't even recognize these characters now. The effort to swing the show in a "woke" direction was way too forced. And the result is unwatchable. Thank you for the early seasons. The series started with a bang. But you've lost me. I'm out.

Apr 25, 2022Awful writing. Story line does not make sense. Characters acting out of character. Show needs to end.
-
Apr 21, 2022Some of the worst writing I've seen from this team in season 6. The show creators have taken their eye off the ball and should have killed the show when Damien left. Prince is not a real adversary, nor compelling as a character. Chuck's constant axe grinding has lost any of its potency, too. Add to that too many new characters (likely to make the show more diverse), and as a result, familiar characters like Wags and Wendy are less central. The show no longer has gravity. It lacks a purpose and a soul. I won't watch season 7.

Apr 14, 2022The definition of kicking a dead horse. Worst of all, it had to happen to a show which I once considered my favorite. Cringey, nonsensical, and a complete waste of time.

Apr 14, 2022Billions could have been one of the all time great series. The first couple of seasons were really good, then the whole Chuck part of it became silly. Really really silly. They basically cast someone who once his storyline was over, they couldn't move on from. Chuck should have become a minor character after the battle with Axe was over in season 2/3, but because they cast too big a name, they couldn't let go. The list of things wrong with this season and the past couple of seasons is a long one. Billions started with Axe making the pop culture references, only he did it. It was powerful and his trademark. Then it developed into every character not being able to finish a sentence without making the same types of references. It's gone past the point of cringe. Why on Earth would Chuck devote his entire life to challenging the owner of one company. It's ridiculous, unbelievable and boring. If it was real life his friends would tell him to seek help with his pathetic obsession. There are far too many characters. It sometimes seems like the show runners want to humiliate the cast, what Dave did at the end was absurd. Mike Prince is boring, predictable and just incredibly annoying to watch. His new Wags type sidekick is terrible. Why when they had the chance to make a landmark show about the hedge fund industry did they pivot into a legal drama? Why are non of the storylines related to trading? Why is a show called Billions focussed on a lawyer? One thing they did do well was reduce Wendy's part, just get rid she's fulfilled her purpose.
