CW and Greg Berlanti expand the footprint of their DC Comics universe with this exploration of the intersection between family life and being a superhero. As a younger man, Jefferson Pierce donned the suit of a vigilante and protected the streets of his city, but he believed he'd left those days in the past. He learns that life doesn't always work out as planned when his daughter, Jennifer -- a star student who is determined to achieve justice at any cost -- gets recruited by a street gang. In order to protect his family, Jefferson sees no choice but to once again become Black Lightning.

Sankalp good S @Sanna Mar 30 It's upside-down but great season doesn't feel it's final the end episode tease a great future in the series lala could be a great antagonist it's have a so much to continue many more seasons n explore many stories nevermind it's entertaining finale it could be better but strong it's great in many one of the best of all time love it 💯👌♥️😃🦸‍♂️💫🎉 See more Fetti @Fetti918 10/21/2023 Excellent conclusion to an excellent series. See more 01/06/2022 Not the best season or the worst season this show had. My few issues with this season are the following, the police chief, tobias whale as last vilain and the fact that this season didn't felt like the last season of the show. Police chief was lame, boring, atrocious. Shes one dimensionnal and we already had police members with the same kind of grudge against meta. Chief also did many bad leadership decisions. She forced one of her detective to be part of the anti meta human squad when the said detective didn't wanted to be part of the squad. She mixed up her feeling and the job. Tobias Whale felt over used, he had nothing new to give us. Did the city forgot Tobias was a crime lord during season 1 and 2? also keep in mind he was considered as a dangerous meta human treat in season 3, leading him to be behind bars in season 3. Him becoming as powerful as he was during a few mounths time made no sense, we also had a similar story in arrow when Diaz controlled star city to have a seat at a big criminal group. I believe at first they planned on ending the show at season 5 but in between season 3 and 4, the actress playing Jennifer and the actor playing jefferson probably had behind the scenes conflict-drama, driving the actress toward leaving the show. Since Jennifer actress and jefferson actor were no more able to work together, they ended the show with season 4. Grave digger was still around by the end of the show. Lala was still around by the end of the show. Bigger criminal groups are still around. Now, enough negative being said, here are the reasons why it deserved an 8 out of 10. Jefferson being broken after Henderson death was amazing, giving us great acting scenes. I didnt enjoyed him being off character that often, using his powers for revenge despite Gambi warning. JJ having social media felt dumb but teenage-like thing to do. Having a different Jennifer was interresting. Lala and the war gang was great. The new meta human killer was interresting. The season as a whole was very entertaining. Gambi was good as always. Painkiller being a good part of this season was amazing. Painkiller episodes were among the best the show aired. Despite Lynn story about drug being back and not as good as season 3 did, it was still well done and realistic, very grounded. Drug addict do lie to their families and therapists. Jennifer drug almost killed her, here again its fine since the message is well delivered, however the first time drug was a thing in the show, it was better since it was new. shakuur, henderson friend was amazing, he was a great remplacement for henderson. Tobias dying was great ending. The writting was great as any other seasons. Most of the characters all got proper closure. This was a flawed but very strong season. Sadly, we won't see Odel dying since Painkiller spin off was canceled before being aired. If you liked black lightning, you will enjoy that season as well. See more 07/28/2021 I really like this series. The storyline on this season started of ropey but has improved as it's gone on. What's really started to really irritate me is the constant derogatory black comments. They use to be here and there in the previous 3 seasons but in this season it's getting a bit much and ruining the watch. Wish they would just concentrate on making a good script without the ‘black' slurs. See more 07/21/2021 The final season, for the me the let down of Jennifer character towards the end of the series, the replacement didn't even come close to how the previous actor played.
