Singer-songwriter Edwin McCain is best known for his 1998 slow-dance hit "I'll Be." He still records and tours, but when he's home in South Carolina he performs in a different act: Boats Have Soul. McCain's boat-restoration business is the subject of the six-episode "Flipping Ships," which features the singer and his quirky crew fixing literal sinking ships and giving them a second chance on the water. Many are found abandoned, with floorboards long replaced by grass and dirt, so the team puts in long hours re-creating fishing vessels, open-water cruisers and family houseboats. McCain's goal is to provide clients with opportunities to forge deeper connections to the marine environment on one-of-a-kind crafts.
