Netflix’s Fresh, Fried & Crispy looks decadent and delicious but ultimately is as empty as the calories of the fried food served. It’s reheated entertainment. Go to Full Review

Fresh, Fried & Crispy is pure public relations for the restaurants it covers. Go to Full Review

Despite Daym Drops' energy and the really wonderful food that's on display in Fresh, Fried And Crispy, the show is just too heavy on shtick to be enjoyable. Go to Full Review

Antonio W @Mr.Whit3 09/03/2023 I enjoyed seeing the comparison of great spots to enjoy some nice fried foods in different states. The different variety of fried foods from different cultures was nice to see too and some of the chefs were willing to open up about their recipes and methods of cooking on some dishes. I feel like there's definitely more unexplored hidden gems in America regarding fried food to leave this at just one season. See more San Antonio R @RT15304548 05/07/2023 He's funny but a show is not the format for honest reviews. He comes off less humorous and instead a little disrespectful. It's different watching an honest review of franchises on YouTube, but to interview these hard working self-business owners is a different story. Also awkward seeing the closeups of their faces behind him watching him eat, even looking a little nervous. Then, only to have him throw some unfinished food in the trash (spam fries in Vegas episode) which it's ok if he doesn't like them, but again that is something for social media… It came off as passive aggressive and rude in a show. These people are likely more happy to be on Netflix, not to be reviewed by a comedian and might not have even heard of him before. See more 01/22/2022 Daym Drops is entertaining on his YouTube channel and Netflix is amazing by itself. The combination of the two does not hit the mark, it is far from it. I think Daym would be better suited for a different show as a judge, working along side other industry professionals. The premise of the show is solid and would be better with a more seasoned food-show host, I personally think Justin William or someone similar would be perfect. Hopefully this is just Daym working out the kinks in his first season, and season 2, if it happens, gives us a more refined Tv host. See more 12/08/2021 What happens when you pair an over-produced Netflix original series with an under-produced host - YouTube sensation Daym Drops? A show that's nearly watchable, if not for the poor hosting and commentary, albeit visually stunning backdrop. While it's legitimately entertaining watching Daym Drops on YouTube, there is a significant gap between the Netflix-induced learning curve that both he and his viewers are subjected to on FF&C. Daym seems to have no knowledge of the culinary world outside his webcam viewership, which ultimately ends up as an embarrassing lesson for the professionals tempted into being featured on this show. Watch intently as he‘s taught to butterfly shrimp for the first time from a professional chef, then promptly declares that he won't eat them with such garnishes as prepared - by the same chef. It's a master class in … not being a master, but instead an over-eager apprentice with an over-sized ego. From Episode 3: "Las Vegas" - "And then, you come back to Chef Bro-Ar-Dee, and I show you how to get a nice, fine slice with your salmon. Chef, are you learning anything today?" — "No. Sorry." We all aren't learning. Sorry, "Chef Bro-Ar-Dee," but you shouldn't call yourself a Chef. In contrast, the slo-mo shots of food prep are next-level delights, nearing a Planet Earth-style presentation that's honestly magnificent. Not sure who's behind the camera but I wish they had better narration to accompany. David Attenborough or James Earl Jones, Daym Drops, is not. Overall, this show is mostly a disappointment to me because I feel like the restaurants and chefs that they showcased deserve better. As someone who doesn't know much about food, even I can tell that Daym should learn a little bit more about the industry before attempting to host a show like this. Netflix thought they could mask an inexperienced amateur celebrity with a professional film crew and it didn't work. Better luck next time. See more 07/22/2021 The show fails to deliver because it is very superficial and, unfortunately, the host's energy is lost on gimmicky jokes and one-liners that do not contribute to the show. They go for the food but barely talk about it in depth. The commentary is limited to "ouhh" "oh that looks good", "there's a bit of love in there", "my man", "that's what Im talking about" - or repeating comically what the other person just said. They go to talk to the people but we barely hear their story or their thoughts. Unfortunately, this is a people-oriented food show with a host that is neither a good interviewer nor a food connaisseur. The variety of cuisines and regions is nice though. See more 07/10/2021 Loved most of the places he went to, the visual effects were great too. But there were too many cringy moments when it comes to Daym over-exaggerating the food he ate. I know 'exaggeration' is what made him famous on Youtube at the first place, but it just didn't vibe with the purpose of this show. Also didn't like how he would disrespect the food that comes with things he doesn't like (e.g that scene where he picked out the vegetables from the sandwich and threw it away).
