This reality series features award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay driving to struggling restaurants across the country in his state-of-the-art mobile kitchen and command center, Hell On Wheels. In today's social media-driven world, everyone is an amateur food critic, and restaurants often find themselves one bad review away from shutting their doors. Ramsay will try to bring each of these failing restaurants back from the brink of disaster -- all in just 24 hours. First, he sends a team to record secret surveillance. Then, he goes under cover to see the problems firsthand. As the clock ticks down, Ramsay and his team transform these restaurants with spectacular renovations, fresh new menus and hope for the future. It all builds to the end of the 24 hours when grand reopenings of these restaurants are held for the public.

It's amazing what a piquant vinaigrette dressing can do - or indeed skilful editing. Go to Full Review

It's the same old formula. But somehow it works. Go to Full Review

In reality, the daft deadline has been set purely to wind up Ramsay to the max - and it works a treat. Go to Full Review

True hell, though, is watching something that was once so pure be mashed into something unrecognizable. The original UK format has been combined with so many artificial additives it makes Mountain Dew seem like spring water. Go to Full Review

For a man who trades in passion, however, the recipe for Ramsay's show looks exhausted, a stale and wilted formula. Go to Full Review

Overall, there are some positive endings here, but you may not want to watch these transformations while eating. Go to Full Review

Harry T @harryt9840 01/07/2024 I love Kitchen Nightmares and I love this show too, what Gordon discovers is gross, very good show. See more 09/19/2019 This show really proves that made in America doesn't mean diddly-squat. Every episode features Americans who don't give a crap and have given up or damn near given up and are perfectly happy to serve their fellow Americans CRAP. Yes, that's right, you can see it all on this show. Americans serving their fellow countrymen rotten vegetables, spoiled meat, moldy cheese, and other disgusting, vomit-inducing garbage from filthy, barely-ever-cleaned or never cleaned kitchens, some of which are overrun with rats. Made in America doesn't mean doodley-squat, does it? You can even watch some of these Americans being rude to their own customers. 'Cuz they don't give a rat's ass about their customers. Anyway, enter a foreigner, Gordon Ramsay, to save these loser and lame-o Americans. All the better for Gordon that saving these loser and lame-o Americans involves yelling, screaming, and belittling them. You can tell he really enjoys that. I love the 2 minutes of each episode where Gordon pretends he's a psychologist and sits down to have a heart-to-heart talk with the loser/lame-o American restauranteur or employee who has given up or damn near given up and doesn't give a crap anymore. Wow. Being a TV chef who is infamous for yelling and screaming and belittling people on reality TV shows really qualifies Gordon to help people with their personal problems. And in less than 24 hours no less! Wow, Gordon, wow. As we all know, long-term changes can really occur in a person after an infamous TV star has a cursory heart-to-heart talk with them. I also really love how sometimes, at the end of the episode, they show the loser/lame-o restauranteur has gone back to his or her wicked ways, i.e. Gordon Ramsay FAILED. This show really proves made in America doesn't mean high quality at all. In fact, on this show, made in America means it's CRAP. This show is made in America trash itself. See more 02/19/2019 I'll give this 4 stars. If you look at it as a show, yeah in some places it looks a bit dramatized and you want to know more about what the restaurant people have to say, however if you look at it like it's a humanitarian crisis crew that goes around saving small businesses in an unheard of 24 hour turn around time frame, then i would give it 5 stars, i can't think of one other organization show or not that helps the community like this show can, AND make it profitable for both parties. See more 01/10/2019 One of his best shows. Of course. See more 12/30/2018 Love Gordon but this is the same show as always but with a squeeze of zest. A 24 hr race to re-open is kicked off by a funny reveal as Ramsey is in DISGUISE sampling the nasty food. If I had to watch it with commercial breaks, I wouldn't have made it. 42 min? Sure ... (Quick programming note: Season 1 is much better after episode 1) See more 09/15/2018 an authentic show that let's us see some good folks that need a hand up get the help they need!
