If you're prudish or just polite, in other words, you'll be turned off by all the happy offensiveness. If you're not turned off, though, you may be entertained, as I am.

The four dirtbags trying to run a dive bar together are so energetically amoral in trying to turn things like abortion rallies and underage drinking to their advantage that you'll be hooked even before Danny DeVito joins the cast. Grimy magic.

"It's Always Sunny" still possesses considerably more energy than your average comedy.

There is a willful, even gleeful abandonment of political correctness in FX's spare, painfully funny comedy It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is looking for a bigger score from its old pros. DeVito the dad just wants to be part of the gang, and the foursome, kicking and screaming and poking fun at this whole sitcom gang concept, makes room.

Oct 1, 2013 | Full Review…

It's set in a bar, but Cheers this ain't. Sunny is much more of a latter-day descendant of Seinfeld, with DeVito as the most gleefully selfish character in the bunch.

The show is the right thing to do, viewers. So do.

I can't wait for this show to get back on the air.

In real life, we would never want to know those often horrible people, but the cast make them incredibly fun to watch on TV, even as we gasp at the lengths (and depths) that they will go to.

The addition of Danny DeVito to the cast, as Frank is genius. The show really ups it's game in this season, and has many hints at the absolute genius that follows.

Mac bangs Dennis’ mom. What more could we ask for? The best show on Earth!

It seemed to be a lot better to me, and I definitely think that Danny DeVito was a great addition and help! Also, a great last two episodes of the season, and season finale/cliffhanger!
  • May 12, 2014
91% The addition of Danny Devito to this show was a genius move.
  • Feb 28, 2014
Introducing Danny DeVito to the cast only heightened the zany hijinks and twisted character dynamics that the show had already established as it's strong point. Consistently one of the best American comedies on TV.
