Kantaro's antics and foodie visions are totally bizarre.

Combination sitcom and food show is delightfully bonkers.

Kantaro is simply the most fun a foodie can have and will appeal to a much broader audience as well. It's quirky, hilarious, superbly acted, and full of the most delectable desserts.

Few of these shows have effectively captured the spark that the subject deserves, the joyous sensation of biting into a souffle or licking the cream off an eclair. None, that is, until Netflix's new original series, Kantaro: The Sweet Toothed Salaryman.

It's about as close as you can get to actual food porn without genitals getting involved, and every 24-minute episode is as ridiculous and beautiful as it is educational.

It’s a really original way to learn and discover (traditional) japanese desserts (?????????) i really enjoy this show and laugh a couple of time!! The actor is really good too!!!! I recommend!!

I absolutely loved Kantaro. It's an absurd mix of excellent foodie material, extremely precise narration, japanese quirks, Tokyo roundabouts, comedy gold and some of the trippier scenes I've seen in a while. The acting is also very entertaining, the main actor is a well reputed kabuki personality (kabuki is a traditional type of theater in Japan very noisy and exaggerated) and that shows in is hilarious tête à tête with sweets. Highly recommended.
