"Kevin Can F... Himself" is a dark comedy that alternates between traditional multi-camera sitcom and single-camera drama. Set in Worcester, Mass., the series follows the journey of Allison McRoberts, a stereotypically smart and beautiful sitcom wife, who is married to Kevin, a husky, self-centered man-child who is clearly punching above his weight. After making a dark discovery, Allison teams up with neighbor Patty O'Connor as she attempts to escape the confines of her life and take control of her fate.

Kevin Can F**k Himself continues to experiment with different genre formats, to sinister effect as Kevin grows more and more desperate for attention in his audience-less, wife-less, and increasingly friend-less sitcom. Go to Full Review

Kevin Can F*** Himself Season 2 is a fine farewell for a series that didn’t get enough time to develop. Thankfully, its cast, especially Murphy and Inboden, kept things buoyant and truly make the final scene one to remember. Go to Full Review

It's a show for the times we're living in, when the freedom of choice, the luxury of having a voice, and the space to be more than what tradition initially dictated are more important than ever. Go to Full Review

It’s a sometimes messy meditation on the will of these two characters and the ability to find happiness in a home tarnished by ugliness. Go to Full Review

Kevin Can F**k Himself maintains its serrated-edge dark humor while deftly exploring these characters and giving them space to play. Go to Full Review

It's hard not to wish that the story had gotten more experimental in pushing its format a bit further than it did, though it certainly would have been ambitious to try to take flight on the small runway of a final season of only eight episodes. Go to Full Review

Lauren R Nov 22 Love this show and Annie Murphy. so bummed it’s over after 2 short seasons. i really hope they pick it back up. See more Tom F Jun 12 A solid idea and great cast, a good first season, and a somewhat disappointing second season. See more Viol8r @Viol8r Feb 8 By the 2nd to last episode, it feels as though the creators read their cancellation letter and had to speed the plot-line up. There is a missing piece, as though there could have been 2 more additional seasons leading up to the finale. But by this time, the plot thickens. You start to feel for Allison. And it ends in a satisfying twist, with Kevin being seen from the other side. The side Allison had seen the whole time, the one that viewers had questioned whether or not he was actually oblivious. Alas, he’s a manipulative emotional abuser. The ending was great. Rushed. But great. See more Ben N @Bneffer 12/22/2024 This creative show is a great satire on sitcoms and the male/female POV across media. The characters are easy to identify with, while also being nuanced. The 'light' show elements are unrealistic and silly, while the 'dark' are gritty and dressing. I think real life is somewhere in between and I'd venture to say the creators are commenting on that. It's up to us to choose what to do with our perceptions. As for the plot - the show progresses fairly quickly. It's a very different and pokes at the tropes we take for granted about average shows and movies. I enjoyed the ending, and kind of hope it marks the beginning of the end for a genre that is better off dead. See more Amanda H 10/01/2024 This show is absolutely brilliant. it’s definitely more drama thriller esq than comedy and It took me a couple episodes to get used to the style, but it picked up and the story delivered. It’s worth watching until the very last episode. It just kept getting better and better, especially in season two. I especially recommend this show for any woman or AFAB person who’s been in a relationship with a narcissist, or even just a mediocre white man. It’s cathartic. I don’t recommend this show if you are a narcissist and/or a mediocre white man because you probably won’t -get- it. See more Matthew G @Nimbus_Marzen 09/15/2024 Saw this years ago on Apple+.
