The teenage son of Conrad and Ellie Cain, a wealthy New York City family, has been kidnapped - and everyone, it seems, is a suspect. Desperate to find their son, they hire an expert named Knapp, a man known for his high-profile (and particularly dangerous) rescues. With Knapp on board, the Cains try to stay under the radar of local law enforcement while dealing with the kidnappers and growing distrust of each other.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

While Kidnapped boasts fine performances and a compelling hook, the series' premise does not lend itself well to the elongated format of a network season.

As with all such shows, we'll have to wait and see how this one plays out. But the pilot does an excellent job of setting up the story, so there's reason to hope. Go to Full Review

There's a terrific short version of the abduction that is at the heart of Kidnapped, but it's stretched out so long in the pilot as to lose its tension Go to Full Review
