In 2031, the world has undergone a drastic change following the catastrophic failure of a next-generation quantum reactor. The incident -- known as the Xianglong Crisis -- causes energy to spring up from beneath the ground to swallow city buildings and cover the planet. That leads to the emergence of new organisms called B.R.A.I., which are both organic and mechanical. Seven years later, Xianglong has been reborn as the fortified city of Neo Xianglong, the last bastion of hope for humanity against the rapidly evolving B.R.A.I. threat that has pushed mankind to the brink of extinction. A special unit called Pandora, led by scientist Leon Lau, is created to fight for humans' survival.
