Bonnie Molloy is a woman who juggles her roles of wife (to a doctor), mother and host of the local morning talk show, "Morning Chicago." David Bellows is the producer of her show who is usually frantically rushing around to get things done in time for the show, aided by make-up artist Holly, who often advises Bonnie on marital issues, and cue-card guy Marv. Tony Russo is Bonnie's sidekick piano player, who comes straight to her show from his Vegas lounge act. The interviews on the "Morning Chicago" segments are unscripted.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Bonnie Hunt's sparkling personality works wonders, but flat chemistry within the cast makes Life with Bonnie feel a little underwhelming.

The improvised show scenes are great; the mom bits... oh, well. One day, Hunt will star in a hit. But not this day. Go to Full Review

It would be great to see this show take off, if only because [Bonnie] Hunt deserves it and because, even in the stilted moments, you can sense that something really good is close at hand. Go to Full Review

Of all the newsroom and talk-show comedies debuting this fall, Life With Bonnie is the only one that features a real-life personality capable of carrying a show of that kind. Go to Full Review

Bonnie Hunt is delightful, but her TV shows go over like a lead balloon. Go to Full Review
