It’s a standard reality-competition format, but a few things set it apart. One is the sheer delight that the spontaneous, funny and infectiously joyful Lizzo brings to proceedings. Go to Full Review

Although it feels familiar, Watch out for the Big Grrrls does what no other reality television show has done before: showing plus-size women learning to live their best lives — and there isn’t a diet involved. Go to Full Review

“Watch Out for the Big Grrrls” is expectedly inspiring but also lots of fun to watch. Go to Full Review

Lizzo grounds Watch Out For The Big Grrrls in her empathy, enthusiasm, and experiences, which is enough to overcome the more standard reality TV tropes. Go to Full Review

By removing toxicity from the equation, 'Watch Out For The Big Grrrls' brings the dancing to the forefront of the show, second only to the shows robust messaging about embracing self-love. Go to Full Review

What’s truly stunning to watch is how much the series reassures the girls (and big girls everywhere) that they are enough, with teachers who actually listen and lessons that work to make everyone feel better about themselves. Go to Full Review

bill w @tacobill69 03/20/2024 Stop encouraging people to be unhealthy. It's literally killing people. Sad and pathetic. See more 08/03/2022 This show is great for many reasons: - Talent - and lots of it - Excellence - difficult challenges with high expectations and the means to be successful - Heart - a lot of love and support and honest feedback given with the intention for growth - Integrity - is about striving and succeeding and supporting. Anything less is not acceptable. To Lizzo - you are gifted, talented, and an exceptional person. To reviewers: Look at the professional reviewers - folks who have expertise about programming. 100% positive. Look at the audience reviewers. - Women and a couple of men = 5 starts. Recognition of the great stuff going on in this show. - All others - men = 1 star, mostly just fat shaming. You didn't review this show, you just revealed yourselves. See more 07/23/2022 This show made me want to hit the gym after 10 mins; I could feel the grease in my stomach build up as I watched them dance. There is no reason why a show should be made off people who tumble down a hill to go down a hill like Jack and Jill. Lizzo has personal clothes made for her and that's the closest thing she has to a personality; if anything she might be the Amy Schumer of singing. Don't get me wrong her music ain't bad, but this show influenced me to tie the rope around my neck. Maybe this was a part of her plan to make people go body positive and start working out, since she is clearly the consequence of being babied by adults. I think the part that upset me the most was that by minute 11 I had to delete 10 games off my pc due to the fact that Lizzo and her possy of groupies took all my terabyte of storage, I then watched it on my ps4 since the pc died again at minute 3 but the ps4 blew up and now I have no home, and so I thought let me just finish it on my phone, but before I could even open my phone it said I'd rather let you play Genshin than watch Lizzo on me, within a couple of seconds it exploded leaving my hand utterly destroyed. Now not only am I in the hospital from how bad this show is, but I'm starting to think Cars 3 was a masterpiece due to the fact that no thing, specimen, nor creation could be as bad as this. I'd rather having a Morbing heart attack than have to listen to the fucking group of fat people from Little Nightmares. This show was terrible and clearly I don't need to finish it or else I'd probably lose my sanity next along with my dignity; something Lizzo doesn't have. See more 06/25/2022 I generally don't like reality shows, but I loved this. Lizzo is a treasure, and Watch out for the Big Grrrls is joyful. Reviewers who are concern-trolling or blatantly body-shaming Lizzo and her dancers are entirely missing the point. This is a show about talented dancers preparing for an exuberant finale at a live concert, and along the way we see them grow in confidence, self-acceptance, and teamwork. None of the dancers are the thin size that we typically see on TV, but they are of many different shapes and sizes. Combine that with eye-popping fashion, top notch hair & makeup artists, and encouragement of self-expression -- the result is a celebration of beauty that we don't see represented often enough. You could watch this show just for the hair, or fashion, or dancing, or just because Lizzo is a natural comedian -- but you could also watch this show just to see some under-represented people working hard, being talented, and generally being awesome. See more 04/06/2022 You do not have to be a Lizzo fan or a dance fan to enjoy this show. It covered difficult lessons we deal with beautifully. I became invested in all the dancer's journeys and Lizzo was the perfect cheerleader. This show was fantastic! See more 04/02/2022 I had had to watch a lot of Drag Race before I was ready for this, as in looking at my own stuff. Being a woman in a not right off the rack body, non standard skin tones and hair, let's not even think about hair. You saw what happened to Chris Rock. Yeah, it is just not easy not ever being any influencer based image of normal. But that is not this show. Seriously, Lizzo the performer as producer, literally found the keys of C and A-minor for reality competition programming. There are few sharps or flats in this infectiously fun and often sweet version of how a crew becomes a posse, make that Da Posse... of Pulchritude. The production team is part of the crew. This is a long form audition story, a staple of reality and competition shows. This one has a big heart. Sure there is competitiveness, but what Team Lizzo needs is a thoroughbred stable full dance team super novas cause stars just aren't that bright. Watching these women show up and grow in to their fine selves and a ride or die crew is a lot of. It will tug at heart strings. It will make you want to trade out that cheap soda pop for something naturally sparkling, like water or champagne as either one is better for your stamina. As television, this is as fine as hell. Now, when is the cruise? See more Read all reviews
