Tara and Karan are Delhi-based wedding planners who know that India is a society in transition, with tradition clashing with modern individual aspirations. With each ceremony, they enter into the lives of a different bride and groom. The weddings Tara and Karan service introduce them to the complexities of Indian life while providing mirrors to their true selves -- Tara, a woman from the wrong side of the tracks who clawed her way up into high society through marriage and Karan, a gay man living in a country where homosexuality is illegal.

Granted, the intent is good and the politics is correct. But season two of Made In Heaven unfolds with the moral high-handedness of a white man’s burden. It is always too aware and always too guilty. Go to Full Review

Consistently affecting performances from the principal cast, the supporting actors and the new additions, especially Haldar and Singh, contribute to making this season of betrothals, break-ups and breakthroughs highly watchable and thought-provoking. Go to Full Review

Pranay K @RT98703632 10/09/2023 Season 1 is an absolute banger! One of the best shows ever from an Indian Production. But Season 2… Ugh no man, the beauty that was Season 1 of Made in Heaven sadly doesn't get repeated the second time! My main problem was the focus of the plot in the initial episodes where it was delving more into the personal lives of the leads over the wedding themes, but during the latter episodes I realised the whole show was about sending a variety of messages and that becomes a problem when the preachiness takes centre stage over the story. Remember the juggernaut ending of season 1, when we didn't know what will happen to our characters? Well the ending of season is nowhere close to that and if we knew that this was series finale then that could've been okay but if we see that way then the ending is not what the show deserved. Season 1 - 10/10 Season 2 - 6/10 Really disappointed after the first season beauty back when I watched it in 2019 😢 See more Hemant S @RT50421404 09/14/2023 "Made in Heaven" was one of the first few shows to arrive on Indian OTT, at least it broke a few norms and was comical and revolutionary in the same breath. One of the few of many reasons that I loved the Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti creation. The second installment comes in after four years, though the makers retain continuity of the story pretty well (at least no kids growing rapidly over a screen-time of a few months). It's a smaller season with seven episodes, but it tries to accommodate more plotlines and characters than it first did, too many (in my opinion) than it could handle. And I think all that juggling added to some of the stumbles. I loved the morals at the end of each episode though, but I surely hope the "Delhi" reference was to keep it close to the series – the occurrences apply to more than just that city. Tara (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan (Arjun Mathur), along with their motley crew of Jaspreet "Jazz" Kaur (Shivani Raghuvanshi) and Kabir (Shashank Arora) are still keeping the ship of "Made in Heaven" – the wedding planning company sailing. The third partner Jauhari (Vijay Raaz) introduces an auditor (and his wife) Bulbul (Mona Singh) to keep a close eye on the outfit's expenses, especially as the profit margins pose a question mark and the duo of Tara-Karan hire a high paying production head Meher (Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju) The individual struggles of Tara and Karan continue on; an impending divorce from Adil (Jim Sarbh) and an unaccepting mother who is suffering from a fatal diagnosis, in that order. Various old and new characters pass by in their plotlines. The crux of the show though still lies in the weddings, the couples and the families that the duo meet in every episode. There's a variety of social issues being called out, and interesting dynamics that are dealt with; mainly relevant because the country, and not just the city still struggles with accommodating the new norms that the world finds itself in. Relationships within the same sex, preference to a fairer skin, misogyny and even matters like a knotted liaison between the in-laws or legalized polygamy. Kabir and Jazz's "open" dilemma is quite factual as well. Tough and true. There is a feeling that the points in question may have been repeatedly shouted out, but I think that when the shackles persist, a struggle against them will too. The fact remains that no one, not even the protagonists are saints. Everyone carries a shade of grey, some lighter, some darker. But I think the fact that no one conceals it emanates some conscience, honesty and that works for me. My qualms with the writing; some bits in the story are dealt without a real consequence or more than just "raised eyebrows" – specifically in Tara's and Karan's arcs. Almost assumptively, as if the characters involved silently had a talk over it. Maybe it's just me, but I would have loved to seen some more conversation on the matters. Some more depth. Undoubtedly Radhika Apte stands out in her act as a guest in the fifth episode. it is an episode chock-a-block with drama and contentious points, but it takes it on the face. Dia Mirza, Neelam Soni, Zayn Marie Khan, Mrunal Thakur, Sarah Jane Dias, Shibani Dandekar and even Elnaaz Norouzi put up some great acts throughout the other episodes. Imaaduddin Shah, who seems to have stopped aging convinces as a youngster and well, Sanjay Kapoor is a touch of humor, albeit deluded. Mona Singh and Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju seemed like the most interesting introductions to me; especially when they are introduced as antipodes. Mona turn through her arc naturally, stealing the spotlight and Trinetra does too, as she flames alight some real life issues as a transgender both on and off screen.. Vijay Raaz has always been potent actor, and throws in his weight on occasions, but is underutilized relatively. And Ishwak Singh seemed like a weak link. Jim Sarbh and Kalki Koechlin put in good acts as characters on the opposite end to that of Tara's. Vikrant Massey reprises his role as Karan's childhood friend and brings in one of the season's few comical moments in an ironical and blunt way. Dhulpala and Mathur deliver well in their portrayals, but are overshadowed quite easily. Somehow the lip locks and/or making out seemed to punctuate every other scene between a couple, and it felt repetitive – almost like a crowd pulling tact (reminded me of "The Bold and the Beautiful" soapy days) The lavish weddings were always the sugary cocktails for the many bittersweet pills to be swallowed, especially the ones that present themselves when two individuals (and their families) get married. Marriage isn't a piece of cake and "Made in Heaven" persists to be a consistent paradox. See more Read all reviews
