It's a heist-centric multipart drama that upends most clichés of heist movies and celebrates others.
Spanish TV series created by Álex Pina, telling the story of a single crime, told across 22 episodes: eight robbers, organised and led by The Professor, break into The Royal Mint of Spain with the aim of taking home 2.4 billion.
Tthis series is full of outlandish plot points in virtually every episode. Yet I kept watching. Why? Partly because the series is dynamic and unusually well structured...
The good direction including the action parts, the photograph and the visual commitment to red as an identity color, a script that measures well how to dose revelations and twists. [Full review in Spanish]
Audience Reviews for Money Heist (La casa de papel): Part 1
Apr 22, 2021The Professor's game begins. The best Heist series made.
Mar 16, 2021This serial is best of my life ilike it very much.
Mar 14, 2021My wife enjoyed this as much as I disliked it. So riddled with plot holes and contrivances that I couldn't help but spend most of the time nitpicking. It's passable but very silly indeed.
Feb 18, 2021Where do I start? Firstly, the actors seem taken from a Big Brother edition. The dialogues are mostly flat and predictable. The conflicts are very few and not interesting. They introduce you to all the characters at once and you don't even know who to care for, that means that there is no suspense. The plot is not even that bad but they should have done more researches as some parts are practically unreal. I was the first season and stopped there, but it took me a lot of effort to keep watching it for 13 episodes. Big NO-NO. The only character, Berlin, who could have been more interesting is not ruthless enough. The professor is not a good leader at all that makes him a lame character. I believe if you are not used to series like Picky Blinders, Breaking Bad and Narcos, you might think this shit is good. But the time you are spending on that series is stealing precious time for something more interesting.
Jan 13, 2021In between a 3 and 3.5 star. Not sure how the ratings on this show are so good. It's utterly ridiculous but it's so ridiculous and has a compelling enough big picture story that you want to keep watching. The flashbacks and small scenes within the episode are outrageous and funny since they're so strange, but the heist itself is intersting. A lot of frustration with scenese that seem like a big deal but end up not turning into much. They try to make you think things like killings but by the end of the season you know nothing is happening. Zero people died which should say it all. Fun watch but not a quality season
Jan 08, 2021Lasted a full 5 episodes before I gave up! Just so boring and slow. 32 hours into the heist popped up onto the screen and at that point I felt like I had been watching the show for the same length of time! Not for me!
Jan 04, 2021Highly overated and hyped. Very very slow and the constant mistakes seem like they are used for fillers.
Jan 03, 2021absolutely fantastic keeps you glued to the screen especially the end of season 2
Dec 30, 2020This bank heist has lots of twists that keep you interested and even intrigued. But some elements are so fanciful as to not be believable. And as the season wears on, it becomes more and more a telenovela, a tendency that reaches full bloom in Part/Season 2. Still, it's a fun ride.
Dec 29, 2020So overrated, slow, boring, cliché... What a waste of time
