Despite the fumbling of the villains at the end, I had a good enough time with the series and all that it had to offer from the coming of age story to the themes of family and culture. The show had a lot of heart.

Ms Marvel had such a great family and cultural element to it. Stylistically it was very well director and even downright touching. The revelations and excitement through this show, prove how well these Marvel shows can be. One of my favorite marvel series

So many so-called Marvel fans have been attacking this show, in comparison to say Captain America Winter Soldier or Avengers End Game. They refer to it as woke, or childish. Which proves to me these so-called Marvel fans are really just fans of one or two elements of Marvel movies and comics. Not everyone who read Dr Strange comics as a kid also liked Deathlok comics. Fans of the Punisher War Journal rarely read Ant-Man comics. Marvel is capturing multiple audiences and genres and demographics. Calling something woke because it has people other than white people in it, or a female role instead of a male role, is imbecilic. I was “too old” to have read Ms Marvel comics, I learned about this character later on, and Marvel does a great job at depicting this character. One could criticise why they changed her powers and abilities, I would get that. But a comic written to add levity to a darker world, to have a woman hero, and one navigating life as a teenager serves a big purpose.

I honestly didn't know enough about the character, and had my doubts, but this was put together in such a way that it made me cheer for her to overcome and grow. The acting was mostly good. I think the story stretched a bit, but I for one would like to see more. I hope they don't force Captain marvel into her story too much and kill this off, because I think this could be one of the better stories to follow.
