Piper Chapman is a public relations executive with a career and a fiance when her past suddenly catches up to her. In her mid-30s she is sentenced to spend time in a minimum-security women's prison in Connecticut for her association with a drug runner 10 years earlier. This Netflix original series is based on the book of the same title. Forced to trade power suits for prison orange, Chapman makes her way through the corrections system and adjusts to life behind bars, making friends with the many eccentric, unusual and unexpected people she meets.

Yash B @yashbansal 12/06/2023 "Orange is the New Black" has been one of my longer television undertakings in some time. I am happy to say that this seven-season journey is well worth the time. The show does an outstanding job developing its characters and stays interesting with its flashback structure. I do think the first four seasons are easily the best, and the fourth is probably one of the best seasons of television I have seen as the storylines get darker and more serious around then. Despite tackling many intense topics, this show does often have a dark sense of humor and is frequently very funny too. I do feel the fifth and sixth seasons are a bit weaker than the rest, but I think the final season brings it all together nicely. Despite the dips in quality, I think this is a very good show all the way through and I am glad I finally got around to watching it. Overall, it is a show with important topics, completely captivating characters, and storylines that I got deeply invested in, and I would say it is among the best drama series I have seen yet. Every male character on the show is either evil, incompetent or both. Kohan is obviously just another man-hating leftist lesbian with an axe to grind.
