No consensus yet.
This episode had the right mix of intrigue, science and character development to keep the show on track for the halfway point.
Whatever it is, it is extremely Orphan Black, that's for sure.
Make no mistake, tonight's episode is monumental - not only for the narrative itself, but also for the way it confronts the sticky conversation around germ-line editing.
We did see the return of Krystal, in all her blond-haired, perfectly manicured glory. Not the brightest bulb of the Leda bunch, but it's so nice to see her out and about again, even if she's inadvertently causing our other clones trouble.
Cosima also gets more of a showcase this episode than she has all season.
Overall, it was a good episode, and it definitely had its dark moments.
"Human Raw Material" wasn't a perfect episode (too many coincidences to completely suspend disbelief), but Orphan Black's clearly continuing the momentum built up in the excellent first episode of the season.
Krystal's back and better than ever! Orphan Black Season 4 Episode 5 reintroduced one of the very few remaining "naive" clones who are not aware of their clone status.
Through it all, we have Donnie, and now Krystal for some much-needed laughter.
